About Me
Hello, I'm Rachel and here is a bit more about me and my counselling practice. Please do get in touch if you have more questions or want to organise an initial consultation.
My Practice
I am an NCPS accredited qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, trained in the pluralistic approach. This means I can use a variety of ideas and methods in my practice, including psychodynamic theory, humanistic theory, and CBT techniques. I continue to expand my pluralistic practice by attending and reflecting on various CPD throughout the year, which I greatly enjoy.
My Approach
Above all, my training taught me that each client is unique, and may require different things at different times during counselling. This means I work in a collaborative way with my clients, taking the time to understand their preferences and therapeutic goals before deciding on the methods and techniques we will use together. I am particularly focused on building a strong working relationship with my clients so that they feel supported and able to grow in confidence in the counselling room and beyond. Our relationship is my priority when we start working together.
My Areas of Interest
I have particular interest in the fields of bereavement, parenthood, neurodiversity, disability and issues facing Carers having both personal and professional experience in each of these areas. I have been a Bereavement Volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Care since 2022 and enjoy this role.
My Counselling Qualifications
Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice.
Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory, Chrysalis Courses.
Level 3 Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills.
Before Counselling
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in Finance so understand the pressures of modern working life.
